Aperture Health is a 4,000-employee healthcare network spread across 18 hospitals. When we first met their CISO, Marcus Yu, his team was operating five identity and device tools, plus a spreadsheet to reconcile them.
Why consolidate
Five tools meant five sources of truth. When a clinician moved between hospitals, IT had to update five systems. When they left, IT had to off-board them in five systems — and frequently missed one.
The migration plan
We started with identity: Okta got replaced first, with ICI TECH federating to Okta during a six-week coexistence period. Then UEM: Intune and Jamf both retired over eight weeks. Password manager last.
Total time to full cutover: 14 weeks. Zero downtime. And Marcus's team now manages everything from one console — with significantly more time on the things that actually move security forward.
